Message sent to SLO county BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
I can not tell you how disheartening it is to call the SLO sheriffs dept to report ILLEGAL fireworks and be referred to the CDF! I have lived at E. Vintage st. Nipomo for 13 years. Last year was the worst for ILLEGAL fireworks (and gunshots) We have ever endured!!! From 1979 to 1993 I worked for the SLO sheriffs dept. and I can tell you I am very frustrated that even a former employee can not get a response to a legitimate complaint. Please tell me what is a wait and see approach to ILLEGAL fireworks (and gunshots)? Does that mean that someone’s house has to be on fire or someone gets their hand blown off or someone is KILLED by a bullet? If nothing else just think how much money the county could make from fines. This excuse that there are too many people to control is asinine, just start with one and then one more and then one more. Here is a map I will mark where to position Deputies and you will make lots of money. PLEASE give my regards to Pat Hedges.
Margaret (Peggy) Ward
Margaret, Thanks for stopping by and posting your comment. Your frustration is evident. I hope you get an acceptable response. Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July.
