This weekend, the future construction site of the The Village at Nipomo has been fenced off, in anticipation of that construction. With that fencing, the only light controlled entrance and exit from Tefft Street to the Long’s Center has now been cut off. This cannot be a good sign for the future traffic impact.

For example, one can no longer exit west bound on Tefft Street from the Long’s Center. So, if you live on the west side of town, and you want to go to the hardware store, or visit the Japanese restaurant, assuming you drive, you can no longer exist westbound onto Tefft Street. You must now turn east bound and then find some location to turn around to get back to your home.

I don’t know what the first priority is; but, I’m hoping that the extension and re-opening of Mary Street is the first part of this project. Mary Street no longer goes through into the Longs Center

This blockage prohibits traffic from exiting the Longs Center and turning west into Nipomo. Drivers now must exit Longs and are forced to turn east toward the freeway.

No longer can through traffic enter and exit into Long’s Center from Mary and Tefft Streets.

The Long’s Center is now blocked off from its only light controlled entrance and exit.

The old Hunter’s Landing coffee shop is also set for demolition.
